Hi, I’m Phyllis

I ask loads of questions. Too many if you ask my family and friends. I also practice listening carefully to what’s shared and the texture, signals, and other information communicated in between and all around.

For me, there’s nothing more rewarding than helping to make connections—between new friends and colleagues, to paths forward through wicked challenges, and around the bend to future innovations.

I’ve worked in all sorts of places from restaurants to machine shops to non-profits, law firms, and libraries. Most recently I’ve been deeply invested in bringing design to higher education. I’m thankful for the amazing, creative network of humans I’ve met along the way.

I was raised in an oddball family in the Midwest, mostly in small towns and then ventured to the Twin Cities and Oakland before returning to Madison, WI. I love the seasons and doing whatever best suits therein.
